the mesoamericans settled in the lowlands for rivers. the lowlands had various floodplains in which they used for fertile soil. they grew various crops and had great agriculture.
the Olmec settled in the floodplains of rivers where the rivers flooded the plants and deposited soil for plants. they found a work of art that they believed represented gods.
Maya Classic Period
the Olmec left a big impact on society. today we use a lot of Olmec traditions. For example, in present day we still have a social structure. We also have religion,stone masonry, and agriculture.
The Zapotec settled in the Oaxaca Valley where multiple smaller valleys met.
The Maya classic period began around A.D. 250, and was the golden age of the Maya Empire. The civilization grew to 40 cities including Tikal, Uaxáctun, and Copán.
The Maya Empire, centered in the tropical lowlands of what is now Guatemala, reached the peak of its power around sixth century A.D. The Maya excelled at agriculture,pottery,hieroglyph writing, calender-making and mathematics.
