Storyboard Text

  • Hi! my name is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I'm from Africa.
  • At an early age, I became an early reader and writer.
  • Growing up I was exposed to American and British Children's book.
  • At some point in my life journey...I came across Nigerian books.
  • I wrote my own stories. I wrote of things, I recognized.
  • By being exposed to Nigerian books. This saved me from the danger of a single story.
  • Stories are defined by power. To make it a definite story.
  • A single story creates stereotypes. Single stories are incomplete.
  • Single story doesn't emphasis our similarities; but how different we are.
  • Stories matter. Stories can be used to empower and repair human dignity.
  • When we reject the single story; we regain a kind of paradise
