- They sit down at the fire again, the wind is higher than ever, as they heard the sound of a door banging upstairs.
- Mr,White sat alone in the darkness, staring at the dying fire, seeing creepy faces in it. The last face was so terrifying that he pored water on the fire and went upstairs.
