- Delany was a abolionist that was one of the first U.S. African American Army member and not to mention he was also a doctor.
- Delany had his own Newspaper, he informed abolitionist about what was going on and to up date them with new problems everyday. He had to sell his Newspaper "Mystery" because he was being sued for identifying a "slave catcher."
- Delany went back to writing, he applied to Harvard but was excused because of white protest forcing him to leave. Delany met President Lincoln to discus if he could lead his own regiment of African Amercian troops, Lincoln approved. Delany didn't stop there he also became a trial judge, tried to be the lieutenant of South Carolina but didn't succeed, wrote his own book, and went back into his medical practices.
