- Since Jem had gotten his arm broken when getting attacked, Scout was explaining all that had occurred when coming home.But Mr. Tate suspected that both Jem and scout had to do with the murder of Bob Ewell.
- Scout begins to explain what had occurred, and begins by stating that they were being followed, but she couldn't have seen anything due to her costume blocking most of the view.
- Scout keenly observes the man in the corner of the room, his face was pale, he had on torn clothes and a thin, pinched face that contemplated his colorless eyes.After a while of observing she realizes that the man was Boo Radley.
