Storyboard Text

  • My sons can’t take over my kingdom! Send them down the river!
  • I’ll take care of them now.
  • We don't want to accept this offer. We are going to find our own city!
  • Two twins named Romulus and Remus were born to a father named Mars. Mars did not want them to take over his kingdom so he sent them down the Tiber River.
  • It should be on this hill!
  • No, this hill!
  • The two boys were found by a wolf. He took care of them by protecting them from other wild animals and gave them food. Later on, a shepherd took them and raised them as his children.
  • My wall is good! Stop making fun of it! I will put you to death!
  • Come on! It was just a joke!
  • Romulus and Remus were going to get crowned partners in being the king. They rejected the offer and wanted to find their own city.
  • Finally! Rome is mine!
  • Both Romulus and Remus went to find their own city. They both loved the idea of having it on a hill. They wanted it on different hills. Romulus wanted Palatine Hill while Remus wanted Aventine Hill. They waited for a response from the gods; they used both hills.
  • Romulus started to build a wall around Palatine Hill and Remus started to make fun of it. Romulus got mad, so he killed Remus.
  • After Remus was killed, Romulus named Rome after himself.  He ruled Rome. Rome became one of the most powerful cities.
  • Mmm. This wine is good.
