- Conservation tillage: Farmers will leave crop residue(stalks, stems, & seeds) in their fields without plowing it under. This improves water-use efficiency in crops. Riparian areas: This is the space between land & a waterway. These areas can help filter nutrients and control water levels during floods.
- Water is used everywhere and it is the source of life. It's important to us because we need it for our crops, animals and to drink
- Irrigation is the artificial process (not natural) of applying controlled amounts of water to land to assist in the production of crops.
- The farmer's goal is to implement an irrigation system that makes sense for the crop and land. We reach this by decreasing water evaporation delivering water directly to the plant roots and using technology to measure precise soil moisture.
