Storyboard Text

  • Stuck at River
  • I want boats to cross! NOW!
  • Americans Stealing Boats
  • We have taken the privilege to commandeer your boats, sir.
  • Crossing of the River
  • We are safe. For now.
  • The Americans were stuck at a river bank as they were running from the British. George Washington wanted to get across to get away from the British.
  • Setting Up Camp
  • I am looking for General Washington. Could one of you possibly direct me to him.
  • It's so cold. I miss the heat of my home.
  • Some American soldiers and a general had gone up to a nearby land. They had stolen boats from the owner of that land who was a boat maker.
  • Crossing of the River. Again.
  • The Americans had taken those boats back to the river bank and gotten in them. Some were shooting at British soldiers that had come to defend.
  • Battle of Trenton
  • George Washington had got his men to set up camp by the water. An old man came to the camp and found General Washington, telling him he could have Washington and the other generals stay at his house for a base.
  • General Washington had learned that Hessians were gathering to fight for British. Washington had made a plan to attack, but they had to cross the river, again, to do that.
  • At Trenton is where the army had split into two to attack the Hessian camp. One part of the army went one way, and the other went the other way. They met in the middle of the camp for a battle against the Hessians.
