- Ellie and Sam are happily playing catch outside their houses at the end of a secluded street in the outskirts of town. (two-shot)
- Sam's passes the ball back to Ellie but it goes too far over the rusty fence. They want to get the ball back so they can keep playing but have been told to never go over the fence and their parents aren't home. (medium shot)
- Ellie can see the ball so Sam helps her climb the fence. The ball has rolled under the musty old bridge so Sam encourages Ellie to quickly run in a grab it before it rolls away. (wide shot)
- Instead, Ellie is scared, on high alert and slowly walks towards the moving ball scanning the area for danger. (close up)
- The ball stops at the end of the tunnel near Mad Malin's door, who Ellie has been warned to stay away from. (perspective shot)
- Ellie considers her options and decides to bend down and reach for the ball. (Over the shoulder shot)
