- Hi Mrs Butter-Fly! You are looking beautiful today. I can't believe you began as just a little egg! Can you tell me the story of how you changed? What was the experience like?
- Sure! It all started when I was just a little egg.....

- I hatched after a few days, and began to eat a lot. I ate my eggshell, and the plant I was laid on. I also shed my skin a few times, so that I could grow

- Once I was fully grown, I found a safe place and spun myself a cocoon that I could pupate in. Pupating is the process of turning into a pupa, or chrysalis.

- I was in there for about 2 weeks. Amazing chemical changes occurred and I emerged as a beautiful grown butterfly, now ready to find a mate!
- That's so cool!!
- This process is called metamorphosis!
