  • Hey, so I invited you to ask me some questions about my disease retinitis pigmentosa? Mutations in genes lead to damage to cells that provide seeing. This condition affects my vision.

  • Since this is a genetic disorder mostly the X-chromosome is affected, the sex cell. 
  • What genes/chromosomes are affected by this condition?
  • Sympyoms 
  •  You will start to lose night vision, gradual loss of peripheral (side) vision also known as tunnel vision, loose of central vision and you’ll have problems with color vision.
  • What are the symptoms? 
  • Anyone. It is a genetic disease meaning it depends on the parent's babies gender.

  • How is this condition inherited
  • Most people with dominant retinitis pigmentosa have a parent or family member affected with this disorder. So it is inherited from their parents or ancestor.

  • There is no cure but there are ways to help keep some of your vision. For example stay away from sunlight but really there is no cure or way to prevent this. Bye
