- Today i will be showing you how and why water is a solvent using these materials a beaker, a petri dish, and a penny
- The penny must stay afloat on water so to get it to stay afloat we have to slide the penny over the pool of water as you see we do get a few pennies to float on the water
- next i added a little bit of soap to the water to see if it will help all of the pennies stay afloat so we tried to slide the pennies across the soap water but it just sunk.This is how we know that water is a solvent
