Storyboard Text

  • Down with the Capulets!
  • Down with the Montagues!
  • Thus from my lips, by thine, my sin is purged.
  • Then have my lips the sin that they have took?
  • Shall I hear more, or shall I speak to this?
  • O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?
  • Act 1 Scene 1: The citizens of Verona are quarreling. This fight started because of the serving men and because of Benvolio and Tybalt. The Prince of Verona, Escalus, would later come to stop the fight.
  • So smile the heavens upon this holy act. That after-hours with sorrow chide us not.
  • Act 1 Scene 5: Romeo and Juliet meet for the first time. This happened because Romeo was invited to attend a masked party and by chance met Juliet and fell in love. This is also the scene where the two share their first kiss.
  • Oh, I am fortune's fool!
  • Act 2 Scene 2: In this scene, Romeo makes the dangerous decision to see Juliet again. Juliet is in the midst of disappointment about the fact that the only man she loves is the son of the only man she hates. Romeo notices this and secretively eavesdrops on Juliet's rants.
  • Art thou gone so, love, lord?
  • Farewell! I will omit no opportunity that may convey my greetings, love, to thee.
  • Act 2 Scene 6: In this scene, Romeo and Juliet are getting married in secret. Their families have not been informed of this but the Nurse and Friar Lawrence were part of this scheme. This event happened in such a short time because of Romeo and Juliet's profound love for each other.
  • Act 3 Scene 1: This is the scene in which Romeo kills Tybalt. He killed him because Tybalt began a fight with Mercutio and killed him. Moments later, Prince Escalus comes to the scene to name Romeo's punishment for his actions.
  • Act 3 Scene 5: In this scene, Romeo and Juliet are parting. Because he murdered Tybalt, he was exiled from Verona by Prince Escalus. This is one of the key moments that change the rest of the story completely.
