If I need 4/5 cups of flour for 1 dozen the how much will I need for 1/2 dozen?
This is a division problem, we have to divide 4/5 by 1/2
So if we divide 4/5 / 1/2 the product is 8/5. This is because 1/2 is changed to 2/1, so the operation changes. It becomes Multiplication, the inverse operation. Then simply multiply 4/5 by 2/1=8/5. 8/5 as is a mixed number is 1 3/5. So I will need 1.6 cups of flour.
