- Swear you're acting more like a girl everyday Scout. Stay home then.

- No Jem, it's dangerous!
- Dill, Scout, Quick! Lift me up to see inside the house!

- When I was trying to get out of my breeches, I couldn't get them loose leaving them all tangled. When I went back for 'em, they were folded across the fence... like they were expectin' me.
- Scout, there's something I didn't tell you about that night.
- You've never told me anything about that night.
- H..how??
- I don't think so, Scout.
- Okay, you might be right.
- It could be, and we're taking 'em away from them. Let's leave it for a couple of days and if it ain't gone, we'll take it
- Don't take it, Jem. This is somebody's hidin' place.
- SCOUT!! Someone filled our knothole with cement!
- Mr. Radley, did you put cement in that hole in that tree down yonder?
- What?? No! Who do you think did it?
- Yes. Tree's dying. You plug em with cement when they're sick.
