Storyboard Text

  • After receiving news about the Boston Massacre, the Parliament decided to repeal all of the taxes that were part of the Townshend Act.
  • Although, the tax on the tea was not repealed as the king wanted everyone to know that Britain still had the power to tax the colonies.
  • And again, the tax on tea caused several Patriots to rebel against the Parliament and the King in December 16, 1773.
  • This was known as the Boston Tea Party where the Patriots badly disguised as Indians and dumped the tea onto Boston Harbor.
  • As several rebelious acts and protests continued against the Parliament and the King , tension between the Patriots and the British grew.
  • And the Patriots fought against the British army in the American Revolutionary War to gain their independence.
