- Leonce soon was asleep and not even caring that he had left Edna completely awake. Everything seemed to burden her at this moment and she felt very emotional, and an overwhelming feeling and frustration.
- She stepped outside as she felt the pressure of everything coming down on her. Realization of Leonce's little care for her. She felt restricted by societies idea of a women and their roles.
- I have to be perfect and take care of everything. Why is the world like this. Women shouldn't live this way. But, I must stay in line with society.
- That was when she lost it,society and the world had created expectations and limited women so much. As a mother her job was to be a care giver and praise her husband and do all the housework with no help and no support, and never a break.
