Storyboard Text

  • The Vietnam War was a very long war originally against North Vietnam and South Vietnam, but the US wanted to jump in and eventually became a part of the war. No one supported this and thought they should leave, so on January 27th, 1973 they did. The Presidents during this time were Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon. No one won the war, it ended in sort of a tie.

  • On July 20th, 1969,  Neil Armstrong became the first man on the moon. This mission can also be known as Apollo 11. The president during this time was Richard Nixon, and although the US lost the space race, this was still a win for the US for have the first living person on the moon.

  • Sputnik 1 was Launched on October 4th, 1957, and the US President during the time was Eisenhower. This was the first object in space, made by the USSR, meaning the USSR won the space race.

  • The Berlin Blockade was put up just about overnight and it was used to keep people from East Berlin/ Germany from leaving for the West. The President during the time was President Truman and you could say the USSR won during this time because it kept East Russia in.

  • In early november the Berlin wall had finally been torn down after 11 months of being almost held captive by the USSR, it was finally down and East Berlin was free now. Although 80 lives were lost trying to cross from east to west berlin. This would be a win for the US and All of german, and the presidents around this time were Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.
