  • Really? Well did you know that only 146 million people live in Russia which is about 2.3 times more than the U.K., even though Russia is 70 times bigger.
  • Did you know that Russia is so wide that it has 11 time zones. At midday in Kaliningrad, it's 10pm in Kamchatka.
  • Russia used to be part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the USSR, along with some other countries, however it broke up in 1991.
  • No way! That's terrible!
  • Death rate in Russia is so high because of the large amount alcohol-related deaths and alcohol-related emergencies represent the bulk of emergency room visits in the country.
  • The birth rate in Russia is so low because the fertility rate sits at around 1.3 births per woman. For a country to maintain a stable population, the fertility rate must be at 2.1.
