  • 1816–Battle of New Orleans
  • America has won!
  • Actaually, the war is over! The Treaty of Ghent was signed just two weeks ago, officially ending the war!
  • You may have defeated the British today, but this war isn’t over yet!
  • 1820-Missouri Compromise
  • How do we keep the slave to free states ratio even?
  • We’ll add Missouri as a slave state and Maine as a free state!
  • 1821-First American Settlers Arrive in Texas
  • I’m so glad Mr. Austin managed to get that grant for us to settle here!
  • We can finally start a new life for ourselves!
  • The Battle of New Orleans was the final battle of the War of 1812–although technically it occurred after the treaty was signed due to slow communication rates. America did win this battle, but overall the war was a tie.
  • 1822-Denmark Vesey Slave Rebellion Failed
  • It’s such a shame those men had to die for a freedom that we should’ve had long ago. May God change the hearts of Charleston!
  • Adding Missouri made more slave states than free, so Maine was made a free state to balance the scales. The line was 36’ 30’, with free states above and slave states below.
  • 1823-Monroe Doctrine
  • My crew and I can’t sail to the U.S. anymore…the Monroe Doctrrine has banned foreign ships from approaching the coast.
  • Stephen Austin, known as the “Father of Texas”, acquired a grant to settle Texas, resulting in the founding of Anglo Texas.
  • 1824-Presidential Election
  • This is a SCAM! Adams and Clay cheated!
  • I, John Quincy Adams, vow to serve this country as your president!
  • We voted for Jackson!
  • Denmark Vesey, a former slave, allegedly planned a rebellion in Charleston, but he and his men were caught before the plan could even go into action. Most of the men caught were arrested or hanged.
  • We should’ve known the revolt wouldn’t succeed. We had no chance to make it past the arsenal and guard house, no matter what Denmark said!
  • The Monroe Doctrine prevented European nations from intervening in the Western Hemisphere, which also resulted in a ban on foreign ships entering the coast.
  • Andrew Jackson won the most electoral and popular votes in the general elections, but there was a corrupt bargain in which Speaker of the House, Henry Clay, gave the presidency to John Q. Adams, and in return Adams made Clay the secretary.
