Hi my name is Graycin and I am (Natalie or Ava). We are (...7th graders) and want to share with you QWOW - Qualcomm's World of Work.
How many times has an adult asked you, 'what do you want to be when you grow up.' That is a really tough question isn't it ... I mean come on I am just in middle school.
Did you know that each of us has our own strengths?
Each of us has our own SUPER POWERS!
So how do we figure out what those are?
...and how do kids like us find our place in this ever changing world
That is why we are here to help you begin to explore what your individual strengths interest and values are and how ~ if you align them to your career journey -- you might not need to even call it "work"
So let's take a look at a company's head quarters that is right in our own backyard here in San Diego. Have you ever heard of Qualcomm?
Qualcomm is the largest fabless (we don't fabricate, meaning we don't manufacture the chips) semi-conductor company in the world. Do you like fun facts? Alright let me tell you a couple cool facts... DID YOU KNOW: 2 million chips (micro processors) are shipped every day all over the world. It takes 18 months for a chip life-cycle to be deployed (test - integration - customer engineering - debugging are just a few phases) There are 1000 employees that make up the 'chip team' from marketing - accounting - legal - engineering specific groups - are just a few examples.. There are 13k employees in San Diego & 30K all over the world. There are over 67 languages spoken and Qualcomm has offices in over 114 countries.
