- Person vs. Self
- It is hopeless I will never get home! It is official I am going to die out here. (sob)
- Person vs. Nature
- AHHHHH!! Who is that?! What goes there!?
- Person vs. Self
- Ugh! I want to find something other than gut cherries because I yearn for something sweet and rich.
- Person vs. Self is that conflict because Brian is very conflicted and confused as to why the plane had turned around without noticing him. He also is very hopeless and disappointed because that was potentially the only plane that will come in his direction.
- Person vs. Nature is that conflict because Brian hears a strange noise in the night and then later finds out, after he has been injured, that the intruder was just a porcupine that was defending itself after Brian had kicked it. Also Brian had thrown a hatchet at the poor thing, but fortunately hit a rock which led to his idea for a fire.
- Person vs. Self is that conflict because Brian can' t find any other food than "gut cherries" and is starving for something sweet and rich. Then he comes upon some sweet and delicious raspberries. He wants to find more food because the "gut cherries" are bitter and were his only option that he knew of.
