- 'If ever you disturb our streets againYour lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace."
- ’Tis he, that villain Romeo.
- It is my lady, O, it is my love!
- O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?
- The Montague and Capulet families are feuding and have just had a fight. The Prince of Verona, wanting peace, decrees that the next person fighting will be killed:
- 'For by your leaves, you shall not stay aloneTill Holy Church incorporate two in one.'
- Romeo (a Montague) and Juliet (a Capulet) meet at a masked ball at the Capulets which Romeo snuck into with his friends. They kiss but Julet's cousin, Tybalt, sees them and decides to get revenge.
- A plague on both your houses
- Romeo sneaks into the Capulet orchard to see Juliet. They tell each other that they love each other and decide to get married.
- And for that offenseImmediately we do exile him hence.
- Romeo and Juliet secretly get married with the help of Juliet's nurse and Friar Lawrence, who thinks the marriage may help to bring the two families together
- Tybalt kills Romeo's friend, Mercutio, in a fight. Romeo didn't want to fight Tybalt at first but after Mercutio's death, he kills Tybalt.
- The Prince exiles Romeo instead of killing him as he realises that Tybalt started the fight
