- Ai! Tree-ear, did you hear? The Royal Emissary is coming to Ch'ulp'o!

- I'm sorry, but I have chosen potter Kang for the commission. But, if you use the same design, I will give you the commission.

- Tree-ear watches Master Potter Min create pottery. Tree-ear admires pottery making and wants to do it as well. But, he is an orphan and he will never be able to make pots.
- A Friend's Words

- Tree-ear has never spoken to any other people other than Crane-man, Min, and Ajima. The Potters must prepare to impress the Emissary.
- A Fatal Fall
- The Emissary chooses Kang for the commission, but if Min brings a pot of the same design to Songdo he can take the the commission. But, Min is to old to bring the pots, so Tree-ear must do it for him.

- Due to the toduk-nom who robbed Tree-ear, both the vases were thrown off the cliff and broken. Tree-ear thought about jumping off, but Crane-man's words stopped him. Tree-ear later found a single shard of the vase to bring to Songdo.
