Storyboard Text

  • The Elections of 1824 and 1828
  • Hey I can help you win the election if you make me secretary of state. Do we have a deal?
  • Okay get me in office and we can see if I can get you in there.
  • How the corrupt bargain came to be
  • Fine I´ll do it but you better get me in the office.
  • Listen I´m not going to win either way so 'we can just make a deal so you can win and if you do you make me secretary of state.
  • President Vote Tally Clay 5 Adams 60 Crawford 32 Jackson 41
  • NOOOOOO!!!!!!
  • A new president by a landslide
  • Yes finally I win.
  • Presidential Tally Jackson 99 Adams 2
  • Choose 2 of the three of these people so that they can run for president
  • Clay and Adams decide to make a deal so that both of them may benefit if Adams becomes President. Clay does this because he knows that there is no point in running for president if he doesn´t have the votes.
  • Reforms in the candidate system
  • Candidate 1
  • Candidate 2
  • Candidate 3
  • Since Clay clearly saw that he didn´t have the support to win the presidency he decided to choose the lesser of two evils and help Adams as long as he got something in return which was becoming secretary of state.
  • Knew parties appear
  • Jackson won by a landslide because the people felt bad for him when he lost to Adams in the last election. Adams wasn´t even close to winning the second time.
  • Summary
  • I leave you here today and hope that you enjoy my actions and I hope that they influence the future.
  • Under Jackson's presidency people got to choose which candidates that could run for president, before people just ran for the position and nobody got the chance to say whether they could or couldn't.
  • Number 1 looks like a president.
  • No Number 3
  • Andrew Jackson introduced new parties when he ran from president. He stated that he was a Democrat and he also stated that his opponent John Adams was a Republican. Unfortunately this was the end of the Era of Good feelings because there was new division among the people.
  • Did you hear about the new parties I am a Democrat.
  • Well then we are no longer friends because I am a republican.
  • Through out the elections of 1824 and 1828 many things occurred. New parties were formed and the era of good feelings ended. There were reforms in government, some of which we still use today. In conclusion America was changed drastically, within its people and within its government.
