- Lord Capulet welcomes the gentlemen and ladies to the ball and encourages the music to start up as well as dancing.
- This is fate
- I must kiss her
- Tybalt recognizes Romeo by voice and sight and would like to use his rapier on him but Lord Capulet orders him to remain peaceful.
- Oh no! My life is my foe's debt.
- Romeo is stunned to silence when he sees Juliet. He finds her beautiful beyond measure and falls in love.
- Who is that man that my heart belongs to?
- His name is Romeo, a Montague.
- Romeo approaches Juliet and after exchanging brief words, they kiss.
- Juliet's nurse brings a message that Juliet's mother would like to speak with her and Romeo takes the opportunity to learn who she is. He discovers she is a Capulet to his shock.
- With everyone's departure, Juliet seeks out her nurse to inquire about Romeo and discovers she's in love with the enemy.
