- Welcome to my experiment! Thank you for accepting my invitation.
- This water comes from the Fountain of Youth.
- Dr. Heidegger invited four of his friends to his house: Mr. Medbourne, Colonel Killigrew, Mr Gascoigne, and Widow Wycherly. His house was peculiar. It was full of dust. It was also full of books. There was a mirror, a picture of his deceased fiance, and a strange black book.
- We are young again!
- Dr. Heidegger took a flower from his black book. He placed it in a vase with water and it bloomed again. He said that it was water from the Fountain of Youth and that it could make his friends younger.
- They wanted to drink the water in all at once. However, Dr. Heidegger told them to think carefully about what they will do. They have developed wisdom along with their age and they should learn from the mistakes they made in the past.
- Thank you for teaching me a lesson. I will never drink that water.
- We have to go to find the Fountain of Youth!
- They turned young and they drank more and more of the water. Mr. Gascoigne talked about politics. Mr. Medbourne was counting money. Colonel Killgrew was looking at the Widow. The Widow was looking at herself in the mirror. However, Dr. Heidegger did not drink the water and he sat and stared at them.
- The three gentlemen began to fight over the Widow and knocked over the vase with the water. The rose wilted again. Dr. Heidegger picked it up and said that he still loved it the same way.
- Soon, the three gentlemen and the widow turned old again. Dr. Heidegger thanked them for teaching him a lesson. He said that he would never drink that water. However, the doctor's four friends did not learn anything. They decided that they would go to Florida to look for the Fountain of Youth.
