- Francois tried to put buck back in his place but buck saw their plan and was able to buck outsmart them. Francois got tired of playing games so he gave up and gave buck the leadership spot."François complied, whereupon Buck trotted in, laughing triumphantly, and swung around into position at the head of the team. "
- Buck was pleased that the spot was his and started fixing the team. Buck proved to Francois and Perrault that he was a good leader by doing what spitz could not do."The rest of the team, however, had grown unruly during the last days of Spitz, and their surprise was great now that Buck proceeded to lick them into shape. - When Francois and Perrault finished their job, they had to sell buck and his team to a scotch half breed person which lead Francois to become sad.
