  • Define the issues of cheating and how we will address it in the video. Also, state questions we will later answer in the video. Questions will relate to the causes and effects of cheating. It will be a classroom environment with a direct explanation of our position on the topic of cheating. The camera angle will be directly in front of the participants who are giving the explanation.
  • In this section we will take a look at the actual Saint Joseph’s University Academic Honesty Policy. We will break it down and summarize it section by section. This includes the purpose of the policy, where cheating can occur, and the consequences and processes that follow. This will be in a classroom environment with a wide-angle camera.
  • Saint Joseph’s students are taking an exam in their history class on their laptops. One SJU student did not prepare for the exam at all and does not know any of the material on the exam. This student resorts to copying off the student next to him. The student who is cheating copies word for word off of the other exam without the other student knowing. This will also be a classroom environment with a camera angle that shows both students as well as their computers.
  • An SJU student in the library finds an online source that is very relevant to his assignment. The student takes direct quotes, main ideas, and even a picture from the source without citing it. The student knew that he had no intent on citing the work and wanted to submit it as his own. The student is aware of the consequences that can be presented if he is caught. However, with all of this in mind, he still chooses to submit the essay to his professor. This will be in a library setting with a camera angle that shows both the student and his computer.
  • Student is in his or hers interview with the Vice President of Academic Affairs and is found guilty of cheating during an exam and is given a 0 on the test and an F in the course. This will be an office setting with a wide camera angle that shows both the student and the enforcer of the rule.
