- We were captured in our village. We traveled in the woods for three weeks. We were taken to a boat. Our captors were paid in liquor and cotton.
- Living in America
- We were shipped in very bad conditions between the decks of the ships and some of the prisoners went crazy.
- Working in America
- We were sold as workers. We were examined like horses.
- We had to sleep on the ground with ten to twelve people in a room. The rain and snow got inside the hut through the cracks in the walls.
- We had to do hard work like farming crops and livestock.
