- One sunny Tuesday morning in Bayport, Frank and Joe Hardy are chilling out with their friend Tony Prito.
- Suddenly, their father Fenton Hardy pops out onto the deck to join the leisurely party!
- Yes! Certainly! In fact I have a case to do involving moulage! Would you like to come!

- Hey Mr. Hardy! Is it true that you can make reproductions of a shoe print in dirt.
- It's called moulage.
- Chief Collig phoned to say that Mr. Nelson was attacked last night and robbed!
- Soon after, the Hardy's and Tony hopped in their car to head over to the scene of the crime.
- OH NO! That's terrible!

- That's bad news!
- Okay. We'll get going on them!
- Out by the back shed there are a few shoe prints and tire tracks you'll want to see!
- Obviously there were 2 men judging by the different sizes of shoe prints!
- Really! I'd love to!
- Exactly right Tony! Why don't you get to work on the small one?
