  • From the perspestive or the US The Loisiana Purchase was signifuicant because it created the idea of being able to buy land as if it it was a term in a treaty. Native americans on this land also were affected because their land would maybe be places of conflict with settlers.

  • This act created the idea of forcing indigenous people onto select land, chosen by the US government, which was sort of a precursor to the reservation system. Native americans were forced onto land which was worse than their former land.

  • The US accomplished Mannifest Destiny by expanding the country all the way to the Pacific Ocean. But this land would soom become a place of conflict between white settlers and native tribes.

  • After the war, the US gained the land in the southwest, and the people in it became US citizens whether they liked it or not. Gold was also found on this land causing lots of settlers to move into this area, contributing to the gold rush in California..
  •  These conflicts lead to native americans' ways of life changing, tribes were forced to live on reservations. White people grew somewhat of a bias about native people, about how they were savages.
