In the beginning of Fahrenheit 451 the main character Guy Montag meets a girl named Clarisse (his new neighbor) and she something to him that will change the book forever.
"I herd once that a long time ago houses would burn by accident and they needed the firefighters to stop the flames."
Next, an old lady decided she would rather die with her books than give them up to be burned. Even though Montag knows that it is illegal to have books, he take one from the old ladys house. He did this because he wanted to know "what would make this lady want to die with her books.".
Then Montag's boss, Captain Beatty kind of knows Montag took a book from the old lady's home but he is trying to get him to admit it by telling him what to do and how they will handle it. But Montag's wife finds the book under his pillow.
"Fire fighters will have 24 hours to bun a book."
At this point in the novel Montag has got to really understand what reading means. So when Millie invites her friends over to hang out he starts to read out of a poem book. Mrs. Phelps (lady in the blue dress) started to sob, and Mrs. Bowles yells a him, so he yelled back. But he then kicks them out of his house.
Captain Beatty tells Montag that Millie told him about the books and Beatty makes Montag burn his home and books down. But Montag lights Beatty on-fire an then he gathers whatever books were not destroyed . Montag runs but now there is a manhunt for him. He was now on his way to St. Louis to meet the book printer Faber told him about.
This conflict is solved when Montag meets the three guys who are also have been running to escape the hound. But there was an explosion in the city and Montag goes back to help look for the remaining people who survived and he tries to rebuild the community.
