After sailing across the ocean and living and surviving in the harsh waters with one another, the Puritans arrived in Cape Cod but it was not what they had expected. It was infact the opposite due to the rocky soil and lack of lush greens.
While exploring the new found area around them, they had encountered Native Americans but they had fled due to their fear of the Puritans. The Puritans had later discovered the Native Americans supply of staple foods such as corn and they stole. Through Gods mercy they had found and planted the corn, but if not for their savior, they would have starved to death. God had been constantly portayed as the protagonist and savior for the Puritans because they believed that they were God's people.
After their discoveries they headed back onto the waters, but the predicament they all faced was disease. Many died, and got sick, only but a few in the begining were safe. Those were the sea men, so to avoid getting sick with disease, they drank booze. They would not share any of their alcohol though, and were selfish. But when the time came as they got sick, the Puritans helped out their old friends and cared for them.
