  • In July 1945 there was a Secret Manhattan Project. This then lead to the dropping of the first atomic bomb. This was a warning to Japan but, the  Japanese ignored this warning. 
  • USS Indianapolis was selected to deliver the bombs across the Pacific to the place where the attack would occur.
  • The Enola Gay was the first to be dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, this bomb called little boy instantly killed 70,000 people. Over a course of just a few months, radiation could continue killing many.
  • On August 9th of the same year, the atomic bomb called "Fat Man" was dropped on Nagasaki. This killed over 40,000 people. 
  • RUN!
  • President Truman pondered that possibly dropping these bombs wasn't such a great idea on the United States behalf. He said it was a very hard decision to make. 
  • This was a very hard decision. 
  • After Japan surrendered, peace was settle. The people could go back to start living their normal lives, but it took a lot of all of the damages from war. 
  • Things are starting to calm down and get better.
