My teacher keeps talking about some SOHCAHTOA stuff and I have no idea what that means!!
Hey I have an idea... I will teach you everything you need to know about SOHCAHTOA!
What does this phrase stand for though?
You use SOHCAHTOA when finding the angles of triangles when you know the side lengths.
Lets start with SOH. If "x" is the angle measure, SOH stands for Sin of X = the opposite side of the angle divided by the hypotenuse of the triangle.
CAH stands for Cosine of x = the adjacent side of the angle divided by the hypotenuse of the triangle.
Lastly, TOA means that the tangent of X = the opposite side of the triangle divided by the adjacent side of the triangle.
So, if I was looking for the Sine of where the heart is, I would do 5/6.
Yes you're right!!
