This is Eva, and she owns her own restaurant. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee. Living in America, under a market economy, Eva owns and controls her own resources and sets her own prices.
Eva is on her way to visit countries around the world to see what it would be like to own her own business under other economies.
I can teach you how to gather resources and cook!
Eva's first stop is Canada in which they live under a mixed economy. The government owns and controls the resources used by Eva, but she is still able to set her own prices on her menu.
Hands down, best restaurant around!
Eva's next stop is North Korea which has a command economy. Eva finds it very difficult to run her own business here as the government not only owns and controls all the resources, but they also set prices, and Eva has no say.
Last but not least, Eva visits Haiti with a traditional economy. She thought she had it bad in North Korea but little did she know. In Haiti, she did not have access to a kitchen and had to gather her resources herself. She had to cook in ways that the natives have always cooked and use new techniques as she was lacking her usual luxuries.
Eva was glad she got to experience other economies, but she was happy to be back home under a market economy. She ran into many hardships in the other countries, and she quickly realized how lucky she was to own her own business in a market economy.
