- George Washington was born on Feb. 22, 1732 his Dad was Augustine Washington, his Mom was Mary Ball Washington.
- As a child he worked on farms.
- He married Martha Dandridge, making her Martha Washington. He also adopts Martha's children from a previous marriage
- He was a Patriot and fought for the colonists freedom. He was important to the American Revolution because he was a Commander in Chief in the continental army
- He is known today as the first president. He has a landmark named after him, the Washington monument.
