  • 10 commandments: A commitment to my leadership, which I will use as a guide in leading my future school.
  • First Commandment I will be a strong Principal that empowers, encourages, models for, supports, and mentors my teachers.
  • I will work to advocate and implement Reflective Practices. Through reflective practices, I will build community with my teachers, staff, and students. Reflective practices will also be used to guide teachers in recognizing their strengths, while encouraging and promoting leadership in every teacher on campus.
  • Second Commandment
  • Third Commandment I will have clarity and focus as the Principal for the following stakeholders: teachers, administrators, support staff, students, and parents. We will all be involved in writing our mission and vision statements. With clarity, we will know the SMART Goals that we will write and want to achieve. With focus, we will know which actions to take every single day to achieve our goals.
  • I will insist on a collaborative culture. I want grade level teams vertically aligned to build vocabulary, build on standards taught, discuss collected student data, write lesson plans for data driven instruction, and reduce redundancy in the instruction as students advance from one grade level to the next.
  • Fourth Commandment
  • I will be action oriented for Social Justice! I am committed to facing adversity, conflict, and anxiety of all stakeholders on our campus. I will bring awareness for Social Justice. I will strive to be sensitive to the diverse backgrounds and cultures represented on our campus. I will work to bring awareness and celebrate our diversity.

  • Sixth Amendment
  • I will continuously educate myself on best practices as a a leader. I will use research-based best practices to promote a healthy environment for my stakeholders. I will keep abreast of the present trends for our students' advancements, achievements, and successes. I will advocate for the advancement for our students academically, socially, emotionally, and athletically.
  • Seventh Commandment
  • I will be committed to continuous improvement as we prepare our future leaders (students and teachers) for success. I will select a leadership team to be sure we are continually meeting the goals of our vision and mission. We will support all staff and students.
  • Eighth Commandment
  • I will call for a culture of collective inquiry for Best Practices. Teachers will be encouraged to be the best learners on campus. They will learn from one another's craft (both talent and skill). They will peer teach, build community and partnership, and learn to be vulnerable. Building their practices as a supportive team will lead to camaraderie and the success for all of our learners, students, and adults.
  • Ninth Commandment
  • I will be a sensitive leader. I will be sensitive to my community's needs, and provide time for family, social, and religious events. I will promote time off to my fellow educators to engage in enjoyable and relaxing activities. Weekends and vacations will be free of e-mails, deadline due dates, school commitments, and school-related inquiries.
  • Tenth Commandment
  • I will be mindful and present at all times. I will acknowledge my teachers and students. I will celebrate successes on our campus. I will model the expected positive behavior for our students and teachers. I will be present every morning to greet my staff and students with a smile and let them know I am grateful they are on campus with me! I will ask for help. I will be a team member, facilitator, supportive resource, and cheerleader when needed.
