- They were described as "giants, louts, without a law to bless them." (paragraph 110). According to the text, in section 125, it states, "as we rowed on As we rowed on, and nearer to the mainland,at one end of the bay, we saw a cavern".
- The cyclops eats one of Odysseus's men. According to the text, section 235, it states, "Then he dismembered them and made his meal, gaping and crunching like a mountain lion".
- Odysseus's and his men threw a stake and hit the cyclops in the eye to try to escape the cave. According to the article, it states, section 330, it states, " straightforward they sprinted, lifted it, and rammed it deep in his crater eye, and leaned on it".
