  • Poseidon, I will get you!!

  • The Minotaur was a man beast punished by Poseidon and kept in a maze from which it could not escape.
  • King Aegeus of Athens would sacrifice 14 Athenian children to King Minos' Minotaur every 9 years to avoid war.
  • Aegeus' son Theseus could no longer bare this and went on the voyage with the children to Crete.
  • Ariadne, daughter of King Minos, fell in love with Theseus at first sight on his arrival in Crete and gave him a ball of string to find his way out of the maze and a sword to protect himself.
  • Theseus and the children were sent into the maze and Theseus fought with and defeated the Minotaur.
  • Theseus sailed back to Athens with the children . They were the first people to survive going into the Minotaur's labyrinth.
