  • Penelope happily welcomes home Telemachus. He tells her about his journey and what he heard from Menelaus about Odysseus. The disguised Odysseus goes to town. later he asks the suitors for food but is insulated.
  • After Odysseus is insulted by the bigger he beats Irus soundly while the suitors watch. Later on, Telemachus and Odysseus remove all armor from the court to the storeroom. Penelope talks and questions Odysseus. He encourages her saying that Odysseus shall soon return. The nurse Euryclea washes Odysseus's feet and recognizes his scar.
  • At the feast, Telemachus seats the disguised Odysseus in a noble and honorable place. But Odysseus is still abused by the suitors. However, Theoclymenus sees disasters near.after the feast and banquet Penelope brings out Odysseus bow. The first Telemachus tries and then the suitors, all of them fail. Odysseus strings the bow with ease.
  • Odysseus tears of his rags and begins o slaughter the suitors one by one. Telemachus bring s the armor from the storeroom. Athena helps Odysseus but the suitors try to defend themselves but are eventually killed. Odysseus learns from Euryclea which of the housemaids are guilty of misbehavior and are hanged.
  • Euryclea tells Penelope that the bigger that killed the suitors are actually Odysseus. Penelope is shocked and questions him. She is still doubtful but then finally believes him. They embrace each other and talk happily catching up. The next day Odysseus goes to tell his father Laertes of his return.
  • The Gost of the suitors are misrably gathered in the underground world of Hades. odysseus find his father working humbly in his yard and reveals him self to Laertes. Some men of Ithica seek revenge to aveng =e the suitors and march to attack Odysees. However when the battle begins Athena stops it, and makes peace.
