- I wonder if where are any birds up there..
- An example of an invasive species in New Zealand is the rat. The rat has a very high population and they kill other animals like kiwi and other native birds.
- Rats first came to New Zealand on a european ship ages ago, before I was born. My dad was around then, he was actually one of the rats that came to New Zealand on the boat. He didn't kill other animals though..
- You humans need to try stop these rats. I'll give you some ideas, since I'm a rat and I know what we like. Rats aren't the smartest animals, so you can lure them into traps. You can make non lethal traps or lethal traps. Lethal traps kill us instantly, whereas non lethal traps just catch us. We like to eat peanut butter so if you have any of that around try luring us in with that.
