- Equality 7-2521 invents electricity, but is put in prison when he is caught where he is not supposed to be.
- Resolution
- Equality 7-2521 presents his invention to the council, but they reject it, and at this point there is no turning back. Equality 7-2521 is going to leave the society.
- Equality 7-2521 runs away, meets the Golden One in the forest, finds the house, and learns about the Forbidden Times.
- They both use real names, no longer think of themselves as part of the great "we," and decide to raise their kids in an individualistic society. The book is summed up with the word "ego"
