- Medina accepted Muhammad, the Islam religion, and the Muslims. Muslims joined together in Medina and created Ummas, or communities. They appointed Muhammad as their "Messenger of God." Meanwhile, they were also trying to fight back against the Meccan government trying to get them to accept Muslims.
- Who are you?
- Angel Gabriel (Jibra'il)- Arabic
- One night in Islam, known as vigil, Muhammad was meditating. An angel, who was later known as the Angel Gabriel, spoke to Muhammad. Gabriel was saying that the Prophet Muhammad and other Muslims were ordered to read and were encouraged to write in pen and progress in sciences. These verses were the first revelations that were given to the prophet Muhammad.
- Did you hear about Muhammad's revelations?
- Apparently angel Gabriel spoke to Muhammad.
- Muhammad shared his revelations with close friends and family members. They then started spreading it to other people and his revelations were shared with many people.
- After Muhammad died, in 632 of illness, Abu Bakr continued and confirmed Muhammad's religious practices which were called the Five Pillars of Islam.
- Muhammad gained many Muslim followers in Mecca, but Mecca's leaders feared that Muhammad would threaten their power and prosperity. His followers were threatened to be persecuted, so Muhammad and his followers fled Mecca to Medina.

- We accept the Islamic Religion and will protect all Muslims in Medina
- We need to get Mecca to accept us too!!!
- Islamic people excelled in sailing, so they spread their religion over the East and West on the ocean. They made ports in East China which led to farther expansion of the Islam religion which includes the Indian Subcontinent, Western China, and even the Philippines and Indonesia. The Muslim merchants from the Arabian Peninsula passed through little islands in the south to reach the Chinese ports. Islam was spread to these Islands too.

- Abu ordered the men who had written Muhammads Revelations to collect them in a book. They then were collected into chapters and made into the Quran. The Quran was not seen as words of Muhammad but as the unalterable word of God.
- 3. Fasting during the lunar month of Ramadan.

- 1. avowal that there is only one god and Muhammad is his messenger.
- 5, Making the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once during ones lifetime.
- 2. Prayer five times a day.
