  • In his story "Harrison Bergeron," Kurt Vonnegut makes the point that too much equality is bad for society. The character George and some ballarenas had a device in their ear keeping them from thinking too much and being smarter, and the ballarena had to speak is a horrible tone to not have a better voice than anyone. Vonnegut's point of this Satire is to warn people to not get crazy with people all being the same and to not give the government too much power. In the story their son was killed for being individual and they dont even remember because their brain is too scrambled. Harrison is warning the world to not have too much government power and not too much equality to the point that people as individuals are no longer individuals.
