Protagonist: The NarratorAntagonist: The Old Man/The Narrator/The PoliceSetting Time: Midnight (12am-4am) 4th NIghtSetting Place: Old Mans House (bedroom)
Every night The Narrator checks up on The Old Man at 12am. The Narrator spends one whole hour cracking open the Man's door so he doesn't wake him. He shines his lantern onto the Man's eye and on the 8th night it's open which angers the man.
UGH I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE HIS BODY IS UNDER HERE!!!
On the 8th night The Narrator murders the Old Man using his own bed, suffocating him! Relieved from that blue foggy eye which he hated the most.
What have I done?!
After murdering the old man the Narrator cuts him up and hides his body under the floor boards. The next morning police arrive to check up on a "noise complaint" in the night. The Narrator seems calm and lets the men in. Then the Narrator starts to hear a noise, like a heartbeat.
The noise won't go away and eventually.. He pleads and pleads for the noise to go away. He shows the police where the body lays and is taken as mentally insane.
The truth will reveal itself; power of guiltPerson vs. Society (thoughts on mental illness)Person vs. Self (the old man is convinced that he can hear the man's heartbeat)Person vs. Person (narrator vs old man's eye)
