  • Pompey,  with my military strength and your leadership in the Senate we rule Rome. 
  • Yes Ceasar. We can make Rome great.
  • Rome is not enough for me. I want to rule the region. I will start by taking over Gaul.
  • Caesar's army fought for 9 long years
  • I do not want Caesar to rise to high power and fame
  • We must make Caesar leave his army and come back home
  • Senate
  • Caesar is ordered by the Senate to abandon his army and return to Rome
  • He was told not to take his army across the Rubicon
  • I will not obey!
  • Caeser took his army across the Rubicon
  • A Civil War broke out in Rome
