  • Jesus was surrounded by a group of people, waiting to listen to him. He said: here was a man with two sons. The younger son wanted some money off the house, and the father agreed and split the houses earnings between them.
  • The younger son packed up all his things and set off to a foreign land. He spent all his money living the best life, eating fine foods, wine and partying. In no time, he had spent all his money.
  • The country became poor, and no one could eat anything. He was in need. So he was hired out in the country, and fed the pigs. He was so hungry, but he couldn’t eat anything.
  • His father said: “Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” So they began to celebrate.
  • The older borther heard the celebrations for his brother and refused to join in. The father went to brother and asked for him to join. He answered his father and said: “ I have been here all these years, and you have never thrown a party for me! Yet this son of yours has come back with no money and you celebrate him?”
