  • As someone who belonged to the pioneering batch of the K to 12 curriculum, I can’t say with utmost certainty that it is an effective one since the pioneering batch is still about to graduate this school year and no one knows yet if it will indeed provide what it claims to do e.g. more competent graduates and better employment opportunities globally. But as what I have experienced so far, the K to 12 program is not really living up to its expectations. Before, I’ve heard some say that K to 12 graduates need not attend college since there will already be a lot of job opportunities for them. Honestly, that thought gave me hope thinking that students, especially those coming from the lower class, will now have the option to work without having to go to college. Disappointingly, after graduating from the said curriculum, I really didn’t see any changes at all. Most job hiring still look for college graduates and some even demand for having at least a year or two of experience which made a lot of students, me included, think that the K to 12 curriculum was just a waste of time.Hopefully, the situation will change soon though.

  • The K-to-12 Curriculum is just a waste of time and money because the subjects tackled in Senior High School are just also tackled in college. Everything is just really a waste!
  • Education is crucial, particularly if you wish to have a bright future. By hastening mutual recognition of Filipino graduates and professionals in other countries, the Kt o 12 program fosters global proficiency. It was put in place so that we might be "globally ready," as they say. As a part of the K-to-12 curriculum's pioneering batch, I can attest to the fact that it is still not well-established. It is ineffective in the sense that the courses are taken over and over again when attending college. The programs are not well-planned,which adds to the cost load, particularly for the poor. To be honest, we shouldn't be comparing our years to those of other countries; instead, if we're going to compare them, we should try to analyze the hours we spent at school on a daily basis. Senior High School should focus on the course that the student wants to follow and take a deep dive not only into the theories but also into the application. In the implementation of K-to-12, they should also evaluate the opportunities that will arise as a result of taking the course. They should have first worked on upgrading the Philippines' education system and employment qualifications before implementing such curriculum.
